Architect, Adrian James designed his own practice on an extremely restricted site where planners insisted on a bare minimum of windows. They also stressed that any rooflights had to be unobtrusive. A 1200mm Plateau rooflight was installed and painted light grey to blend with the roofing; this provided plenty of light, but being only 192mm in height could not be seen from ground level.
