Case Studies by Building Type: Public Buildings
Natural History Museum
The 48 Conservation Rooflights® supplied to the Natural History Museum replaced single-glazed rooflights of a similar design as well as leaded hatches used for service access. They were supplied over a six year time span in two stages and two different designs were specified for the east and west wings. Those for the east wing differed from the originals following rebuilding of the roof after bomb damage sustained in World War II. Located discreetly behind the parapets, the new rooflights now provide light to research and study rooms and access for servicing purposes.
